World's first Ayurveda spa at Colombo airport
The world's first Ayurveda spa in an airport has been opened by the Siddhalepa group at the Colombo International airport departure lounge.
This is a first time that an Ayurveda Spa has been opened in a departure lounge of an international airport.
Director Hettigoda Group, Vindyani Hettigoda said there is a demand for Ayurveda products and this was the reason for them to have a Spa at the departure lounge.
She said that with the expansion of the Colombo airport there are many transit passengers and they also want to attract them. The Spa would also add value to the Colombo airport. She said treatment would vary from half an hour massages to two-hour treatment.
All our products and treatment at the Colombo Airport has been designed with the passenger in mind.
"Therefore unlike traditional Ayurveda treatment we are not using oils that stick to the body for a long time," she said.
She said there is a growing international demand for Ayurveda treatment. "This was the reason for us to embark on a Ayurveda resort in Germany," she said.
The group also had many positive inquiries for their products at the recently concluded WTM in London. "This is very encouraging," she said.
The group also owns and operates an Ayurveda resort in Wadduwa and was the first company to open an Ayurveda spa in the city. (Mount Lavinia.)
The group also gave a demonstration at the recently concluded World Travel Market at the Sri Lankan airline stand.
