Sri Lanka conveys its gratitude to the US government for taking action to freeze the assets of the LTTE in the American soil, said Foreign Minister Bogollagama in parliament yesterday.

The most important allegation against the TRO is raising funds and procuring arms for the LTTE. The government has banned all the activities of the TRO and the ban is so extensive that it cannot emerge once again using another name. The US Treasury authorities took this action respecting his claim and after scrutinising TRO’s accounts for the year 2006. The US Treasury is the first US institution to take appropriate action against the LTTE, said Bogollagama.
