Iranian President to visit Sri Lanka next year

The Sri Lankan Media Minister Luxman Yapa Abeyawardena told that Iranian President Mahamud Ahamud Nizard would pay a visit to Sri Lanka next year.

 

The visit of President Mahinda Rajapakse to Iran has succeeded in bringing many advantages. The Iranian Government also has agreed to fund more than 1500 million dollars to various development projects in Sri Lanka. Ten development projects have been identified for funding. A total of eight agreements including one to supply fuel at a concessionary price were signed between the countries.

 

The Investment Board of Iran has come forward to give financial assistance to the livestock development in Sri Lanka. In addition Iran has consented to grant loans to the value of 1500 million dollars at a reasonable interest rate for the housing development, said Minister Luxman Yapa Abeyawardena.
