Minister Rajitha Senarathne observes that the JVP has no reason to object to the proposals regarding devolution of power to provincial councils in the north and east in keeping with the 13 constitutional amendment.
Speaking at a media conference in Colombo he pointed out that JVP has members at other provincial councils. The minister pointed out that although the government has invited the LTTE for negotiations Prabhakaran wants to victimise the people through dictatorship rule.
He said the LTTE leader does not want the people to have political power.
He said majority of the issues of the people in the east have been solved and after liberation the north will also see a similar situation. Therefore the minister stresses that a political solution could be found for the north and east without the support of the LTTE.
