Anti narcotics committees will be set up across the island

Chief operational advisor of the National Anti Narcotics Unit MP Venerable Athureliye Rathana Thera says 14 thousand anti narcotics committees will be set up across the island under the Mathata Thitha programme this year. Plans have been set to set up these committees within the first six months of this year.
The committees will find solutions to problems related to the use of narcotics through discussions with the public in various areas.
The Thera said anti narcotics committees will be set up at each Grama Niladari division in addition to committees to be established at district and divisional secretariat level.
