Investigations commission amendment bill passed

The investigations commission amendment bill has been passed in parliament.
Taking part in the parliamentary debate held in this connection Minister Dilan Perera said the bill enhances the power invested in investigations commissions. He said the government has taken many measures such as increased allocations to make these commissions more effective. At the debate parliamentarian Rauf Hakeem said the new amendments would contribute towards a more just investigation with more transparency. Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe taking part in the debate said no proposal against the government has been presented to any international council.
