The United National Party and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party grieves the untimely demise of MP Sripathi Suriyarachchi.

Issuing a message of condolences, general secretary of the party Tissa Attanayake says the late MP was a leading character in active politics in the country. He committed his service to the public enthusiastically as a deputy minister and a minister when he was elected to parliament in 2004 having contested in the Kelaniya electorate under the United People’s Freedom Alliance ticket.

The SLFP Secretary General Maithreepala Sirisena said even though MP Suriyarachchi represented a different political stream, his sudden death was a great shock to him. Meanwhile, final rights of the late MP Sripathy Suriyarachchi will be conducted on Wednesday.
