Six terrorists killed in Mannar & Welioya

Two terrorists were killed in confrontations with the Army on Saturday (01) in the ADAMPAN area, MANNAR SECTOR.

One terrorist was killed around 4.30 in the evening and the other around 4.40.

A soldier was also reported injured by mortar fire in the CHEDDIKULAM area in the morning yesterday 01 around 9.50.

In WELIOYA, Two terrorists were killed when the Army launched an attacks on a LTTE terrorist strongpoint in JANAKAPURA NORTH AREA, on Saturday (01) morning around 3.20.

The body of one terrorist and a T56 Assault rifle were recovered in the search operation conducted by the Army.

A soldier was killed and four others were reported injured in the confrontation.

Two terrorists were also killed in another incident in JANAKAPURA AREA in the morning around 11.46 yesterday (01). A soldier was reported killed and another was injured in the confrontation.

Meanwhile,  447 anti - personnel bombs, and two 81mm mortar bombs improvised as two booby traps were recovered by the Army in the  search operations conducted in the WELIOYA, ANDANKULAM and  WELIOYA AREAS on Saturday (01).
