Foreign monitors commence their monitoring activities

 


The foreign election monitors arrived in the island will start their monitoring activities in the eastern province today. They arrived in the island on an invitation by the Election Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake.
Meanwhile, PAFFREL has also invited some foreign observers to monitor the election. These monitors had already held discussion with senior candidates of contesting political parties. Meanwhile the political propaganda activities in the eastern province have reached the last stage.
Sources say these propaganda activities are done in a more active manner. The political parties of the UPFA contesting the eastern provincial council election have given their full support to the government. Meanwhile, our correspondents say the representatives of United National Party have started their propaganda activities at their respective their electoral division.
The parliamentarians and other representatives of Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna have also started their propaganda activities in their respective areas of eastern province.
