Three special teams conduct extensive investigations on Friday bomb blast

Wickremaratne says three special teams are conducting extensive investigations on Friday bomb blast in Katubedda.  Police media spokesman and senior SP Ranjith Gunasekera says a high powered claymore bomb was found hidden in Dehiwela.  A micro piston and bullets were also found. Initially investigations have revealed that a claymore bomb weighing five kilos was blasted using a remote controller.  The bomb was  fixed in an abandoned land along the road near the Katubedda temple.  The police have imposed curfew in Dandeniyawatte in Katubedda. Twenty one persons have been killed in the bomb blast targeting a bus operating in the Piliyandala-Katubedda this morning.  Seven of the victims were women.  One of the dead was a student at the Moratuwa University. 55 injured persons are receiving treatment at the Kalubowila hospital.  Director of the hospital Dr. Wilfred  Kumarasiri says four of the injured are in a critical condition.Vice chancellor of the University of Moratuwa Professor Malik Ranasinghge says academic activities of the university are being carried out as usual.
