The National Freedom Front which headed by former JVP members points out that the main challenge the country now faces is to correctly identify strategies employed by the LTTE due to its severe defeat and respond to these strategies appropriating.

The party points out that the present moment is not a suitable occasion to act based on various other agendas. National Freedom Front parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa stated this at a press conference held in Colombo this morning.

He stressed that it is the responsibility of all to contribute towards defeating terrorism. The party has presented a set of proposals aimed at uniting all communities in this regard.

They propose to form an All Party Peoples’ Security Council. The parliamentarian said the proposals will be presented to all recognised political parties in the coming days. He observed that the present behaviour of the LTTE depicts the heavy defeat they now face.

MP Weerawansa observed that the people should be aware that the objective of the LTTE is to direct the country towards any measure that will ease the condition the terrorists are now in.
