Ambassador designate promises campaign against LTTE propaganda

Sri Lankan Ambassador designate to the United States Jaliya Wickremasuriya told the Mahanayake Theros of Malwatte and Asgiriya the that he would campaign strongly against the false propaganda by LTTE against Sri Lanka.

Wickremasuriya called on the prelates after paying homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic for invoking blessings prior to leaving for the US.

The prelate of Malwatte said that the majority of those in diplomatic missions in foreign countries had not taken adequate steps to carry out propaganda in favour of their country.

The LTTE and their allies made full use of this lapse, they said.

Ven. Suriyagoda Jinasiri Thero, Mrs. Wickramasuriya and the children of Mr. Jaliya Wickramasuriya and his brother Prasanna Wickramasuriya accompanied him.
