Prabakaran advertising music CDs and DVDs

by Dushy Ranetunge in London
On Sunday, the LTTE’s web arm Tamilnet published some extraordinary pictures of a glum looking Prabakaran receiving music CDs, DVDs etc at a ceremony to commemorate black tigers.

Poddu Ammaan was photographed handing over music CDs on the Anuradhapura attack, Sea Tiger leader Soosai presenting Black sea Tigers volume 12 music album and LTTE political head Nadesan handing over Black Tigers Music volume 9.

The LTTE CDs and DVDs, which were previously sold openly in Tamil shops in London, have disappeared off the shelves after the British crackdown on the organisation. Fund raising has been reduced to a trickle.

As local fund raisers run the risk of being identified and arrested by the British police, the LTTE has attempted to transport Tamil youth from France to London and get them to raise funds. But, even this method has not yielded intended results.

London has ceased to be the main bastion of LTTE terrorism, fund raising and formulating strategies with the international community actively encouraging alternative Tamil leadership.
