British Minister meets Eastern province CM

Mark Malloch-Brown, British Foreign office minister overseeing Asia, Africa and Middle East Tuesday met with Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan

Chandrakanthan confirmed to the Timesonline that he met with the visiting minister.

The minister arrived in Colombo Monday night on a three day visit.

He is due to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa and other Government and Opposition leaders.

He had been to Sri Lanka twice before when working at the United Nations before taking up his current post in 2007.
