Mobile phones: re-registration delayed

Full implementation of a new law on re-registration of mobile phone users could be delayed,  Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) General Manager Priyantha Kariyapperuma said.
He explained that implementation might be delayed as re-registration was a time consuming affair and there were more than one million owners of mobile phones in the country.

He said, however, that all other laws pertaining to mobile phones were in force at the moment.
