Mount Lavinia Additional Magistrate, Ms. Dharshika Wimalasiri, fixed the inquiry into the Chaminda Senasinghe assault case for September 24, in which non Cabinet Minister Mervin Silva’s son Malaka Silva was alleged to have assaulted the victim at a restaurant on Duplication Road.
The Bambalapitiya Police conducted investigations sequel to a complaint made by an accountant, Chaminda Senasinghe, alleging Malaka Silva assaulted him with a firearm at a restaurant on Duplication Road on September 6, 2006, a case where the Magistrate remanded and later released him on bail. Malaka Silva also made a counter complaint with the Bambalapitiya Police alleging that Chaminda Senasinghe assaulted him.
