7 refugees saved in mid sea by an Indian fisherman

7 refugees have set sailing in a kattumaran fitted with a motor to India. The motor broke down and the refugees were stranded in mid sea, when an Indian fisherman saved them. This incident took place in the Jegathappatinam Sea in Puthukottai. Balathandayutham, a fisherman from Jegathapattinam rescued the refugees and brought him to India in his motorboat and handed them over to the Indian navy. The refugees have been identified as Nithiyanandam, his wife Sudharshini and their daughter Kajayini, son Kartheepan, Arunan, Kubenthiran and Nageswaran of Jaffna. They were sent to the refugee camp after preliminary inquiries.
