Sri Lanka’s President Mahinda Rajapakse has received a warm welcome at the Capital Airport in China. The president reached China this morning for a three-day official visit.

Chinese Deputy Minister Wang Wai and the Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Karunarathna Amunugama greeted the president and first lady at the Airport. During the visit president Rajapakse will hold discussions with Chinese President Hu Jin Thao, the Chinese Minister of Trade and top-level officials.

On the invitation of the Chinese president, the Sri Lankan president will attend the inauguration ceremony of the 27th Olympic games to be held in Beijing. This evening the president is due to meet Sri Lankan athletics who are at the Olympic Village .
