UNP candidate’s shop attacked

An unidentified gang attacked and damaged a shop belonging to a UNP candidate contesting the North Central Provincial Council elections yesterday.

The owner of the shop, Ms Subashini Charles, said that the gang of about had arrived in a luxury jeep and a double cab at around 1.20 a.m. and caused damage estimated at several lakhs to her shop.

A complaint has been lodged with the Anuradhapura Police who are conducting investigations.
