UNPer raises privilege issue over white van slur

image Kurunegala district UNP MP Akila Viraj Kariawasam raised a privilege issue in Parliament charging that the state media were attempting to tarnish him and opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe. He said the state media were using an incident in which a security officer assigned to him was involved in a brawl to show there was complicity between the UNP and the “white van’ terror in the country. The Speaker said he would look into the incident.
