Due to negligence on the part of the Police Headquarters, the Anuradhapura Multi Purpose Cooperative Society has declined to supply fuel to police vehicles. A petrol shed run by the cooperative society has refused to continue a long standing credit facility since September 20. The Anuradhapura Police had been told that fuel wouldn’t be supplied until Police Headquarters settled a Rs. 2.2 million outstanding bill. Police said that their movements were badly curtailed due to the dispute between police headquarters and the cooperative society.
