Ministers visit to the East

A group of Ministers visited Batticaloa yesterday with a view to expedite the ‘awakening of the East’ in 180 days. They held a special meeting to discuss about the development programmes.

 

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs Karu Jayasooriya, Ministers Gamini Lokuge, Dew Gunasekara, Susantha Punchi Nilame, M.S.S. Amir Ali and the G.A. Sundaram

 

Arumainayagam and other higher authorities participated in the meeting. A decision was arrived at to make payments of compensation to cultivators who underwent hardships due to clashes.
