Terrorism will be eliminated from the whole country – President

Mandate given by the people will fully be executed and terrorism will be eliminated from the whole island, said President Mahinda Rajapakse at a public meeting in Galle.



The development projects cannot be hampered because of the war. All the people must cooperate with the government in its efforts to develop the country and to establish a disciplined society. The government initiated humanitarian operations at Mavilaru and finally captured Thoppigala, the President said.



The opposition parties behave like the LTTE and carry forward propaganda in foreign countries requesting not to grant loans to the development projects in Sri Lanka. The parties must discard politics of jealousy. The President reiterated that he would go by the promises made to the people and will direct the country towards prosperity. He appealed to the people to offer him the co-operation needed.
