The Government stands firm in the eradication of LTTE, terrorism, said President Mahinda Rajapakse. He also said that he would be intimating this message to both the Leader of the opposition and the Tiger Leader. He said this yesterday during his address at Mannampiddy after declaring open the ‘Japan’s Friendship Bridge’ which connects the East with the North Central Province.
This bridge is identified as the longest bridge in the island. This 302-metre long and 10.4 metre wide bridge is constructed across the Mahaveli River at Mannampiddy in the Polonnaruwa district. Japan funded this construction with 15000 million rupees.
