The UNICEF vehicles covered with bullet proof plates are being issued to the LTTE by the UNICEF officials, said the JVP Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa in Parliament yesterday.
Foreign Ministry, Central Bank and Defence Ministry should take action to inquire into this. The UNICEF has already paid Rs. 100 million per year to the LTTE through the TRO.
The UNICEF officers of the North East are using the vehicles covered with the bulletproof plates. Jennifer Taylor took action to cover the vehicles with bulletproof plate through a company in 2006. The UNICEF has spent US $ 12,375 for this purpose.
