Three new vessels for the use of Peninsula

Government has decided to purchase three ships for the transport of essential and all other goods to Jaffna peninsula due to the closure of A- 9 road. The Ministry of Building the Nations and Development and the Ceylon Shipping Corporation are jointly engaged in this effort said the Ceylon shipping Corporation Chairman, Shrishan Deheragoda. Cabinet approval for this purpose was already obtained. After the purchase of these vessels, essential and all other goods would be freely available in the Jaffna Peninsula.
