British Special Envoy Paul Murphy has arrived in Colombo at 4.10 a.m. today.

He was sent by the British Premier Tony Blair to facilitate the resumption of peace talks.

He will have talks with the Peace Secretariat Director and government peace delegation officials. He is expected to meet the LTTE too.

He worked hard to end the IRA terrorism in Northern Ireland. He paved the way for a political solution by peace talks from 1988. Tony Blair has sent him to facilitate the peace talks in Sri Lanka, diplomatic sources said. A senior officer Christopher MacCabe will assist him.
