The policies of central and regional governments are same

No need to add any new demands in the Sri Lanka issue as the policies of central and Thamilnadu governments are not different, said India’s National Defence Advisor after meeting the Thamilnadu Chief Minister M. Karunanithy.

Indian Foreign Secretary, Shivashankar Menon who visited Sri Lanka on the instruction of Indian Premier Manmohan Singh dropped in Chennai on his way back to New Delhi yesterday morning and explained to the Thamil Nadu Chief Minister, M Karunanithy the present situation in Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan refugees arriving in Thamil Nadu. Mr. M K Narayanan was also with them. They discussed issues to put forward to the Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapakse scheduled to visit India.

At the same time the Indian Foreign Secretary said that discussion will be held with the Sri Lanka President regarding the sending of essential goods during his Indian visit.
