26 soldiers killed in Vakarai attacks

The army from Mankerny Camp moved towards Vakarai through Panichchankerny with armed vehicles and tanks on Sunday morning at 5.30 a.m.

26 army soldiers were killed and more than 36 were injured during this operation, said the army spokes person.

More than 30 LTTE cadres could have been killed and several others injured, he said further.
