A soldier killed in the LTTE attack

A soldier was killed when the LTTE launched an attack on the Uyilankulam Neelasenai Army Camp in Mannar yesterday at 11.00 p.m. This attack lasted for 3 hours and the victim was Susantha.

At the same time, a claymore mine attack was made targeting the Pesalai Police who were on their way to provide security at the GCE O/L examination hall of the Uyilankulam, Tharapuram Maha Vidyalayam today morning, by the LTTE. But the target was missed. After this incident a search operation was launched in the area and the army detected a 7 kilos of claymore mine.

In another incident a soldier was injured in a LTTE claymore mine attack made on the patrolling army in Vavuniya Thandikulam today at 12.30 p.m. The injured were taken to Vavuniya hospital and then to Anuradhapura hospital.
