US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice gave this assurance to Minister Mangala Samaraweera. In their meeting, they discussed at length the prevailing situation in the island. The US Secretary of State said America also supports attempts made by the Norwegian government to resume the peace process. They broached measures that should be adopted to combat terrorism, while safeguarding human rights.
