LTTE arms ships destroyed

Sri Lanka army destroyed three tiger vessels in the high seas south east of Sri Lanka on reliable information. According to the navy three vessels Manyoshi, Sheshin and Koshia are the three LTTE vessels destroyed.Manyoshi, a 45 meter long vessel was detected and destroyed by the navy around 7.00 a.m. on Monday in the sea 600 nautical miles south east of Sri Lanka. According to the information available three light aircrafts and a bulletproof vehicle meant for LTTE leader Veluppillai Prabakaran was on board the vessel along with arms and ammunitions.
The second ship Sheshin according to the LTTE naval registry, 44 meter in length was destroyed at 5.30 p.m. on Monday. The ship, which was carrying high-speed boats, was destroyed amidst 72 explosives.
Naval vessels detected the third ship, Koshia around 10.00 p.m. on Monday and gave chase for nearly eight hours before destroying and sinking around 3.00 a.m. yesterday. The third ship was sailing faster than the other two ships and was the biggest among the three.
The navy identified these three ships as ships without names and not flying flags. The navy then followed the international rules of engagement prior to destroying them, said the navy commander, Vice Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda.
