Former Australian cricket star Steuart Law who is now playing for Lancashire talks about his team mate Muttiah Muralitharan in a small interview with journalist Paul Newman and tell that Murali is working on developing a new delivery. Following is the interview.

Q; A 'youngster' called Murali was impressive in your quarter-final win against Warwickshire. What's he like to play with?

A: He's a breath of fresh air. The guy is such a chatterbox it's like listening to your missus rabbiting on all day! And because his English is not too fluent he comes out with some hilarious things. I tell our young players to watch him in the nets becuse it's such an education. He doesn't even mark out a runup. He just turns up and performs.

Q: Can you pick his variations?

A: It's not easy when you first see him but if you can bat for an hour or so you get the gist of what's going on. It's easier to pick him with a white ball than a red one but it's one thing picking him and another playing him. It's hard to get a bloody bat on him in the nets.

Q: And he's going to pass Shane Warne's Test-wicket record soon. Is he a better bowler?

A: You can't look at it in those terms. Shane changed the face of spin bowling. He made it cool. He put it back on the map. And he didn't play against Zimbabwe or Bangladesh much. But you can't begrudge Murali.

Even though he's got 700 Test wickets he's still hungry and wants to learn. He's working on a new delivery now.
