Ratnam and Negombo Youth end in draw

The Premier League football encounter between the two unbeaten sides Ratnam SC and Negombo Youth SC ended in a two all draw. The crucial game played at Longdon Place yesterday saw Negombo Youth lead 1-0 at the lemons which was scored by D.P.C. Karunaratne.

The second half turned out to be nail biting with Ratnam being gifted a own goal with the ball sliding off to the nets off the boot of Mohamed Rikaz. It was Ratnam who went ahead through a goal by Kasun Jayasekera but Negombo Youth came back to equalize in the dying stages of the match through E.B. Channa. Thus the two teams continue to remain unbeaten.

Blue Star-Police clash abandoned

The encounter between Blue Star and Police which was played at the Kalutara Esplanade was abandoned due to supporters of Blue Star invading the field when the game was almost to be over. The referee was forced to stop the game as the crowd began assaulting players and behaving in an unwanted way. Blue Star was leading at that stage from a goal scored in the 86th minute of play.
