Bharati Airtel to commence operations in Sri Lanka in January

image Bharati Airtel, the fifth mobile phone enterprise in Sri Lanka's telecommunication market has planned to commence its operations in January next year.

 

The Indian telecommunication giant appointed Olof Haag, a former executive of Ericson as chairman and country head of Bharti Airtel Lanka Pvt. Ltd. Bharati Airtel is to appoint a CEO for Sri Lanka before the commencement of its operations.

 

Bharti Airtel, acknowledged as one of India's finest companies, and its flagship brand 'Airtel', has over 46 million customers across the length and breadth of India. The company is to launch world class 2G and 3G services in Sri Lanka with plans to invest approximately USD 200 million in the Sri Lankan market. The mobile services from Bharti Airtel will be launched under the Airtel brand in the island nation.
