Around 40,000 families are affected due to floods

image Disaster Management Center says more than 40 thousand families are affected due to floods in Ampara district.
The affected families are given shelter at Zahira Vidyalaya, Addalachchenai and Sinhala Vidyalaya, Akkaraipattu.
Places including Akkaraipattu, Addalachchenai, Thirukkovil, Alayadivembu, Irakkamam and Karaithivu are affected due to heavy rain and flood.
A special meeting to discuss the flood situation held yesterday at Akkaraipattu Divisional Secretariat. The Additional Government Agent of Ampara district
U.L.A. Azeez said the dry rations are provided to the affected families.
