Troops avert LTTE infiltration attempt: terrorist commits suicide- Jaffna

image A LTTE terrorist committed suicide when troops were about to arrest him at general area Koyiyathottam, Gurunagar in Jaffna this morning (January 13). Troops were engaged in a cordon and search operation in the area around 1.20.a.m. on reliable information received, security sources said.

According to the defence sources in Jaffna, LTTE elements have been making continuous attempts to infiltrate into the peninsula, in desperate motives to cause mayhem targeting civilians and military.

Jaffna military sources said that, search operations were continuing in the area.
