President Visits the Katunayake Air Force Base

H.E. the President Mahinda Rajapaksha visited the Air Force Base in Katunayake yesterday (10)

Air Force Commander, Air Marshal R. Goonetileke warmly welcomed the Commander In Chief. A Guard of Honour was presented to President at the Katunayake Air Force Base. Air Force Commander, Air Marshal Roshan Goonetileke presented a memento the President to mark his visit.



20 years have passed since a National Leader has visited the Katunayake Air Force Base. Therefore, the President's visit marks a significant moment in the history of the Sri Lanka Air Force.  

During his visit the President addressed a gathering of Officers & Air men regarding the crucial role the Air Force is playing in defending the country from terrorist attacks.

The President also inspected several sections including flying formations and the hospital.
