Department of Emigration and Imigration revises charges of renewel of passports

The Department of Emigration and Imigration has revised charges of renewal of passports and visa fees.  Controller General of the Department P.B. Abeykoon says this was according to the implementation of budget proposal of 2008.

  Accordingly, a fee of 200 rupees is charged to renew a passport by one year.  500 rupees is charged for insertion of name of a child below the age of 16.  The fee charge for insertion of employment NIC No, change of a name or other amendment is 500 rupees.  

A sum of 750 rupees is charged for sending details to Sri Lankan mission abroad for issue of visas. Charge for issue or extend visa to live in Sri Lanka for one year is 20,000 rupees.
