Port of Oluvil will be copleted within 27 months

 

Sri Lanka Ports Authority says the construction of the Oluvil Port will be completed within 27 months.
46.1 million euros will be spent on the project. The Oluvil Port Development Plan comprises the construction of a commercial port and a basin for fishing crafts.
The project will give impetus to economic development in the comparatively less developed districts of Ampara, Batticaloa and Moneragala.
The ports authority signed an MOU for the construction of the Oluvil harbour with Denmark contractors last week. The project will create 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities by 2010 and 10,000 opportunities by 2015.
