Pillaiyan to be the Chief Minister candidate of UPFA

(Lanka-e-News, ) Asath Mawlana, the spokesman of the TMVP said that the TMVP politburo that met last night (22) decided to tender Pillaiyan as the Chief Minister candidate for the Eastern Provincial Council. TMVP also decided to contest in a coalition with the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) triggering speculations that Pillaiyan would be the Chief Minister candidate of UPFA as well.
UPFA contested the Batticaloa Municipal Council recently in a coalition with the Pillaiyan Group and TMVP candidate Sivageetha Prabakaran became the Mayor of Batticaloa.
Meanwhile, Basil Rajapakse has invited the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress as well to join the coalition being formed by the UPFA.
