Habarana attack, vehicle owner arrested

The first owner of the canter van used for the attack of Navy Convey at Habarana Digapathana on Monday has been arrested. The owner, a female was from Wellampitiya, Meetotamulla had sold the vehicle to a person in Kurunegala.  The later had sold the vehicle to Vanni, inquiries revealed.

The vehicle was registered in the first owners name and was unchanged till Monday (16-10-06). 

The reason that there was no suspicion on this vehicle was because a Sinhalese lady owned it.

After this incident the police has made a request to those who have sold their vehicles within the last six months to inform the nearest police station within the next three days.
