(Lanka-e-News, ) JVP leader Somawansa Amarasinghe said in a press briefing held yesterday (09) in Colombo National Library that they had the rest house bills of Wimal Weerawansa who claimed not visited Sripada or Dambulla. He further said that the pro-imperialist, foreign conspirators would be exposed in future.

He made these comments in response to a question posed by 'Lanka-e-News' journalist on the allegation made by Weerawansa faction that several conspirators who were handled by foreign forces were destroying the party.

Mr. Amarasinghe said that he himself submitted the long charge sheet against Mr. Weerawansa to the party Central Committee and he had not been removed from the Politburo or the Central Committee.

"It is pointless complaining to the Speaker that he was removed from the JVP. He can come to the party head office as soon as possible and meet us. Today some people are talking of safeguarding the party. Nobody knows about the letters I wrote to the Election Commissioner from abroad in 1994 when certain elements were trying to capture the party goodwill. Those who talk of JVP today are a bunch of thieves who were nowhere. Only Tilvin Silva participated in the party congress before 1989. Others had no understanding on the party."

"Wimal Weerawansa was the leader of the JVP parliamentary group. When people were arrested from Colombo lodges, we could not get him to make a statement against that. (There were Tigers too.) Later MP Anura Kumara Disanayaka made this statement. The main allegation against Weerawansa is, not representing the party stand. Despite whatever personal views we have, we must appear for the majority stance. (Shows the party constitution.) Minority should respect the majority stand. JVP Central Committee will meet soon to take a decision to expose the allegations against Wimal to media and public. It is now clear what his position is. He smells bad everywhere he goes."

'Lanka-e-News: You said that the door is open for Wimal Weerawansa to come to the party. By the same time, you expose his rest house stays to media and block the way for him to come to the party. Are you attempting to cheat the media and the public?

Somawansa: What is your media?

Lanka-e-News: I am from Lanka-e-News.

Somawansa: We know about 'Lanka-e-News'. You don't have media ethics. You can write that Somawansa had no answer.

Lanka-e-News: Is it the reason your bodyguards did not let me to come to the front rows? Is it the democracy you talked of a moment ago?

(Somawansa Amarasinghe is silent.)

MPs Vijitha Herath, K.D. Lal Kantha and Chandrasena Wijesinghe participated in the pres conference representing the Somawansa faction of JVP.
