Government has given approval to import goods from India directly to Jaffna by ship, Media Minister Priyadarshana Yapa said.

Even amidst the LTTE attack, the government would send essential goods for the people of Jaffna.

The government is sending necessary goods to Jaffna by ship and air. The prices of goods in the Jaffna Peninsula has gone up because some businessmen use the opportunity of A 9 road closure and the present situation in Jaffna for their benefits. The Jaffna Government Agent has informed that sufficient goods are available in Jaffna, said the Minister.
