Sri Lanka handed over the relief items to China

Minister of Foreign Affairs Rohitha Bogollagama handed over the relief items to the earthquake victims of Sichuan Province of China to the Ambassador China in Sri Lanka Ye Dabo at the Colombo International Airport.

The relief items is to be despatched by a Sri Lankan airlines special flight leaving to China. The relief items which amounted approximately 120 million rupees included of medical equipment and medicines worth in excess of 60 million rupees.

The relief items included over 1250 tents which could accommodate over ten thousand earthquake victims. The relief consignment further consisted of garments and tea.

The foreign minister stated at the handing over ceremony that more humanitarian assistance to the victims of the earth quake in China is expected form the government and the people of Sri Lanka.
