Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara requests the public to continue to be vigilant and immediately inform the nearest police station or security units on any suspicious factor.
A time bomb weighing one kilogram has been recovered at the Madawala Junction along the Wattegama-Kandy road. The Media Centre for National Security said Wattegama Police found the time bomb this morning after being notified by a civilian regarding a suspicious parcel.
The army has defused the bomb. Two bombs were also found last evening from Moratuwa and Ganemulla areas. Brigadier Nanayakkara said that vigilant public have averted major destruction through these detections.
