Government plans to provide electricity for next five years

Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne said action has been taken to provide electricity for all during the next five years. At present 81 percent of the people are consuming electricity.
7,400 electricity schemes have been implemented to supply electricity for villages which do not have electricity last year. 4,200 electricity schemes have already been vested to the people.
Another programme to supply electricity to the Pelmadulla electorate will take place to the people on the 30th of this month. The Asian Development Bank has grated 30 million rupees for this project.
