Ready for negotiation at any time

The government is ready for negotiation with LTTE at any time, said President Mahinda Rajapakse in the foundation laying ceremony of the Sri Lanka - India Human Rights Centre.

The Government is working with a firm policy to solve the Sri Lanka national crisis, said the President replying a question of a media person.

In my first speech after I assumed office I made a request to the LTTE to come forward for negotiation but ignoring my call they started the attacks, he said.

The government restrained amidst the increasing violence of the LTTE, the government launched the retaliation only after the LTTE suicide bomb attack on the army commander in last April.  And after that they closed the Mavilaru Anicut, which affected the cultivation of 20,000 people the government was compelled to launch an attack against this.

Sea Tigers threat is not only for Sri Lanka but also for India. This is a threat for the international peace. Food supply to Jaffna is being sent without any delay, the President said further.
